Travel isn't always easy, and Guadeloupe taught us just how true that is, but we always look for the silver linings amidst the chaos. Health Scare on the Island
An unexpected health scare cut our trip to Guadeloupe short, with us seeking faster and more comprehensive diagnostic care in Miami. This challenging experience brought into sharp focus the vast difference in healthcare accessibility we have, compared to the local people of Guadeloupe.
Guadeloupe, and taking a shower or not
After a three-hour flight from Miami, our French language adventure in Guadeloupe was immediately challenged by a severe and unpredictable lack of running water due to local infrastructure problems. This forced us to rely on a large stock of stored water bottles for daily survival, as the tap water was off for more than three-quarters of our planned stay.
