The Monteverde Cloud Forest greeted us with a misty and windy atmosphere. We met some new friends and get to experience seeing hummingbirds a wild toucan.

Our kayaks carved through liquid starlight, each paddle stroke igniting a galaxy beneath us. From the longevity secrets of Nicoya to the surreal glow of Paquera’s plankton-rich gulf, this experience was a breathtaking blend of nature, science, and wonder.

From scorpion standoffs to chasing stolen AirPods through the jungle, Costa Rica reminded us that adventure isn’t just about the postcard moments—it’s about rolling with the chaos and laughing through the unexpected. Because no matter what goes wrong, we always say, “the adventure continues.”

Dangling from waterfalls, zip-lining into jungle pools, and rappelling through misty rainforest cliffs — our canyoning adventure with Maquique Adventure in La Fortuna was nothing short of wild. I took the reins as trip organiser and found a company that delivered amazing value, heart-pounding thrills, and an unforgettable Costa Rican lunch. From my first shaky descent into a 20-metre drop to the final plunge beside a 60-metre waterfall, this was hands down one of the top highlights of our world trip.

Sloths are such a fascinating animal. People think they are lazy, but they have an important role to play in their eco systems. While in Costa Rica we went on a sloth tour and got a chance to see them in the wild. I learned so much from this tour as well as doing some of my own research. I share what I have learned from this whole experience as well as some extra things we got up to in La Fortuna.

 A new chapter opens as we head to the next country on our world trip itinerary. Many adventures await in the small Central American country of Costa Rica.
