What is Out Learning?

Out learning in Big Picture is any learning you do outside the classroom that connects you to the real world, such as internships, community experiences, workshops, volunteering, job shadowing, projects with experts, and anything that builds your skills through authentic experiences.

This year, I have had the pleasure of doing quite a few out learning activities.

Crockd studio excursion

As part of my pottery experiential in term 1, I got to go to the Crockd studio in Currumbin

South Passage Voyage

In late April, I embarked on the 5-day South Passage Voyage to complete my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award. It was a challenging couple of days, but it made for a bloody good story, and I would definitely do it again. It was an amazing experience and adventure.

Youth Leadership Conference 2026

I am a part of the Wellbeing committee at school, so I attended the Youth Leadership Conference 2026 in Brisbane. I had a great time listening to all the presenters and learning to become a leader of tomorrow.
